Celebrate Good Times!

I have been such a lazy slug this week recovering from our fun and full weekend that I am just now downloading and posting pictures from the birthday party. Both Hope and David enjoyed their party!

Kyle had a good time too at the party! We set up our water slide and my parents brought their water slide to help keep the kids cool on a super hot day!

When it was time to eat pizza both kiddos wanted to sit with Pops.

I really cannot believe this little one is two already?! She is really such fun these days even though it is becoming evident that she attempts to rule the roost! HA!

Here are the cakes-one princess cake and one Buzz and Woody cake! We served pizza, chips, and fruit and then we had two cakes.

Sweet David. He thoroughly enjoyed his cake and I think he actually had four pieces!! David does not like sweets much at all except for oatmeal creme pies and birthday cake!

This little princess kept licking icing off of her princess cake! She has enjoyed those figurines off of her cake so much.

Hope opening Kennedy's present!

The party was super laid back and I think all the kids had fun. We had to change the date so much due to weather and baseball that I was thankful that we were finally getting to get it done. I love throwing a good party but outdoor parties are stressful when the weather does not cooperate. There were some friends that were unable to come and they were missed, but overall it was a hot but wonderful day to celebrate our little summer birthday babies.

New Toys and Family

We have certainly had lots of water time this summer. I love that my kids love the water as much as I do!

Here is a cute picture of Hope at the pool with her new obsession-GOGGLES!! She insists to wear them with her puddle jumper. This one has no fear in the water for sure.

This weekend we have enjoyed our new toy-a jet ski!!! My Dad has worked hard this week to get this thing polished up and ready for fun. Needless to say that my red-head loved it so much. Unfortunately Mike and I need to take an online course so we can drive it legally but the kids love it so much.

This is the fashion statement-new bathing suit coupled with her bandaids from her two year well check shots on Friday. She would NOT let us take them off but thankfully a dip in the lake helped them come off drama-free!

I could truly write an entire book about this hilarious picture but here is my Dave happily riding on the police boat!! I cannot even type because I am still laughing so hard about this! Yesterday while on the lake my Dad took David out for a spin on the jet ski. My Dad was summoned over to the police boat for pulling away from the dock too fast (good grief the jet ski rules are lengthy) but anyway, when he stopped the jet ski to talk with the police, he and David BOTH fell off of the jetski! The police were nice enough to help them and then they safely brought David back to the dock. When the police asked Dad which dock to take DAvid to he pointed to our dock and said "the one where everyone is laughing at me like a hyena!" Funny, funny times for sure.

They are not old enough to ride solo yet, but they had fun when it was tied up to the dock to sit on it and jump off of it! Such sweet friends.

David and Mommy snuggling on the big big float. We really had such a fun fun day at the lake. Ashely got to join us for the day and we really had some relaxing time. I love going up there and I love quality time with family.

Staycation

Tonight as we were pulling into our driveway from a day out and about shopping and having fun, it hit me that we have had a staycation the last few days. Mike has only worked one day in the last five due to the holiday and except for two days trips we have been here at our house.

We did very little packing yet we have had lots of quality family time. The boys have played golf, we have enjoyed the pool, we have worked in a trip to the lake, and today we went to the nearest big city for a day of shopping and Chuck E. Cheese. We truly did not plan anything but we have really enjoyed our holiday staycation.

I almost hurled when I saw that Walmart was starting to put out the school supplies. I know the calendar is marking days off of summer way too fast, but I am determined to enjoy these days. So far we have truly had a wonderful summer and we have sucked the life out of each of our days.

So far this summer we have really not been farther than the state line, but we have certainly had lots of quality time with family and friends. I am finally realizing that quality time is precious and enjoy it whenever you can get it. I always have thought that big plans had to be made to have big fun, but thankfully I am understanding the concept of quality time.

We are excited in a few weeks to meet Mike in Charlottesville and roam around our old stomping grounds there. There are some special people in Orange County that I would love to give a big hug to and hopefully that will happen. Our Disney trip is coming up in about two months and I think that I am as excited as the kids are!

So tonight I am so thankful for the time that we have gotten to enjoy our Staycation here on Gordon Ave. The upcoming weekend is calling my name with a party on the horizon for our two youngest and a jet ski that my Dad is getting ready to polish up for us all to enjoy! Enjoy every sunshiney moment-we will be shoveling snow before you know it!!:)
