Special Games

Today I took a little break from preschool to head to the track for our county's special games!!  This is a once a year treat where children with an IEP are allowed to come together and participate in field day games.

Pulling into the parking lot I was rushing to not miss the opening ceremony and parade!  Thankfully I did not miss it, but when I entered the track the emotion came over me.  I usually tear up on this day where we celebrate that every child is fearfully and wonderfully made,  but today my emotions were in overdrive.  Today I was a proud parent because not only does my child face a significant disability everyday, but I also am so emotional about what he has had to endure this past year.  Typical David; however, he was smiling and having fun and wondering why his Momma was crying!!

Here is my little QB throwing the football!
This picture not only shows off his ribbon he won, but his new blonde hair!!!!
This is the worst picture of me ever because I had been crying sobbing, but this is how much I love this little brave warrior.  I was so proud to cheer him on today and always.
He got to be one of the torch runners and here he is giving it his all!!!
I so wish I could photoshop some makeup on me in this picture, but amazingly Ashley and Jason both took the day off from work today to attend this event with my child.  David is so blessed to have such cheerleaders in his life today and everyday.  We are so blessed not only with the pictures they take, but with their friendship and love as well.
David and several of his little amigos from his class!!  It was so sweet to step back and watch him hang with his buddies in school.

Pastor Jonathan was there today to give the invocation before the games began.  He prayed a beautiful prayer over the event that of course, made me tear up!  We are all fearfully and wonderfully made by our Creator!!

Watching you run today Momma was so proud of you.  You have no idea little buddy how you inspire me each and everyday.  You have been through so much yet you keep singing praises to God and smiling.  We are so thankful that God chose us to be your parents and thank you for teaching us so much about how much Jesus loves and about what is really important in life.  We love you brave warrior!

Love, Mommy
